Affirmation of Christian Faith

We affirm that where people are gathered together to worship by authority of the Word of God and unction of the Holy Spirit in the name of The Lord Jesus, there is the one true Church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith we earnestly declare:

We believe the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible, known as the Old and New Testaments, to be the Word of God, written by holy men; prepared and superintended by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Scriptures are the complete source of all redemptive truth. It is God's instruction in all that they teach and affirm; God's command and rule of conduct in all that they require; and God's promises whereby we endeavor through our study to conform to its simple teachings, inwardly as well as outwardly, in our daily walk, conversation, and testimony.

We believe that there is but one true God who is living Spirit, of infinite power, wisdom, goodness, love, and holiness; the Maker, Ruler and Preserver of all things, both visible and invisible. Moreover, within the essence of such living Deity there are three personal self-distinctions, which are disclosed as one non-composite eternal being, equal in holiness, justice, wisdom, power, and dignity: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.

We believe in God the Father, who as a distinct person within the non-composite Godhead, is eternal, self-existent, invisible and immortal, dwelling in light and form which no man can approach unto, whom no man has seen, nor can naturally see.

We believe in God's only begotten Son - Christ Jesus of Nazareth. We believe he is the Divine Word made flesh through the incarnation and His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious suffering through scourging and crucifixion, atoning death, and in His burial to reconcile us to God the Father.

We accept and embrace the reality that Christ did truly resurrect from the dead, and took again His biological body, with all things appertaining to the perfection of humanity's nature, ascended into heaven and there resides and mediates at the right hand of God the Father until His personal future return to judge the living and the dead.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Godhead. "He" proceeds from the Father and the Son, is of the same substance, co-equal in power and glory, and is together with the Father and the Son, believed, obeyed, and worshipped.

The Holy Spirit convicts and converts sinners, delivers penitent believers from sin, dwells within the believer, preserves the believer from the power and authority of sin, separates the believer from the reputation of sin; guides the Church into all redemptive truth and directs its ministry.

We believe the Church is an assembly of persons, both local and universal, who are actively engaged in Christ-centered worship and ministry while diligent in their advancement of the pure Word of God and where the sacraments of the Lord's Supper and Baptism are duly administered, according to Christ's ordinance in authentic faith.

We believe authentic faith is that faith which emphasizes both the gift of salvation and the personal relationship with God in which redeemed humanity accepts and fulfills its commission from God in light of its eternal destiny in Jesus Christ.

We believe authentic faith does not require the Church to be a composite of religious people, but persons who practice pure religion and kingdom purposes of Jesus Christ amid a lifestyle of spiritual authority, vocational responsibility, disciplined accountability, and personal holiness.

We believe that without holiness in spirit, soul, and body no individual shall be able to endure the personal presence, beauty, and majesty of the Lord.
